Vasco Career College is looking to hire adjunct instructors for American Heart Association Heartsaver, BLS, ACLS and PALS training course. The position is responsible for providing high quality instruction while demonstrating professionalism and accountability. The candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and should be able to perform all demonstration activities required of course being taught as well as proper documentation.
The adjunct instructor is a PRN position and is assigned classes on an as needed basis per month.
Qualifications:
•        Experience as an advanced healthcare provider (AEMT, Paramedic, RN)
•        Ability to teach effectively in a learning environment
•        Must have a current BLS, ACLS, PALS, instructor Certification
•        High school diploma or GED Only for BLS instructor
•        Basic computer/typing skills and the ability to use Microsoft Word. Ability to use online programs regarding training classes and documentation.
•        Punctual, dependable, team player
The classes are designed to suit every student’s needs and to make sure that each participant learns all aspects of each course. Our goal is to teach and to deliver the highest quality BLS, ACLS, and PALS courses, which have one purpose: to well prepare providers who will be responsible for the care of patients in emergency and trauma cases.

•        Allowed make-up class, as such all make-up time must be hour for hour with the instructor present. Ensure make-up theory and clinical assignments are provided according to the Department approved lesson plan.
•        Comply with VCC and regulatory and other relating agencies Policy & Procedures.
Basic Qualifications:
•        California RN or LVN License (active, current, and in good standing
•        Valid California Director of Staff Development Certification. Must meet the requirements of CCR Title 22, § 71829.
•        Two (2) years of nursing experience: one (1) year in a long term/skilled nursing facility providing direct patient, one (1) year experience in planning, implementing and evaluating educational programs in nursing.
•        Position: AM, PM, WEEKEND
Instructor ratio is 15 students to one instructor.

•        Vasco Career College will train to teach however; candidates must have a strong understanding of body systems, Anatomy and Physiology, Medical Terminology, and human pathology.
•        This is a non-exempt, hourly, part time position with hours generally from 9:00am -1:00pm, 1:30-5:30pm, or 6:00 pm 10:00 pm. Schedule may vary depending on the needs of the program.
*Starting salary is $25.00 – $27.00 per hour depending on knowledge and experience in both the medical and education fields.

Minimum Qualifications:
•        Associate’s degree is preferred
•        Must be a graduate of an approved institution
•        Must be CMA, CCMA, CBC or Licensed Vocational Nurse
•        Must possess a current AHA Healthcare Provider CPR/BLS card
•        Preferred 3+ years of experience in a Multi-Physician Office, Teaching or Supervisory
•        Outstanding English communication skills, both orally and written
•        Knowledgeable in HCPCS level 1 and 11 codes, CPT basic format, new ICD-10 coding system
•        Knowledgeable in HICFA 1500, CHDP, Insurance, Vitals, back office procedures
•        Computer literacy and competency with the MS Office Suite

Vasco Career College School of Health Care Education in Richmond, CA is seeking a Medical Billing and Coding Instructor for our Medical Billing and Coding Specialist Program. The successful candidate will teach half time and perform administrative support duties for the program when not instructing.
Position Description:
The Medical Billing and Coding Specialist instructor will teach 4 hours per day from 9:00am to 1:00 pm,1:30pm to 5:30pm or 6:00 to 10:00 pm. This course is a Billing and Coding Specialist course, so coursework is focused solely on Billing and Coding.
Starting salary is $25.00 – $27.00 per hour depending on knowledge and experience in both the medical and education fields.
Minimum Qualifications:
GED/Preferred Associate’s Degree
Medical Billing and Coding Certification from a nationally recognized agency
EXPERIENCE:
•        Preferred 3+ years of experience in a multi-physician office
•        Experience in ICD-9 and ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS coding
•        Must possess a current AHA Healthcare Provider CPR card
•        Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology and patient education
•        Some level of teaching or training experience is preferred
